Victorinox DAK Dutch Army Knife - KL92(Sold)

Victorinox first started making knives for the Dutch Army in 1983. The knives are basically the same as the Victorinox Silver Alox Pioneer model with a special front scale. The front scale was stamped with the 2 digit date code as well as either KL for the Army or KM for the Navy. The current Dutch Army issue is the newer 111mm style Army knife that Victorinox produces.

Victorinox fing zuerst an, Messer für die niederländische Armee in 1983. Die Messer sind im Grunde das gleiche wie das Victorinox Silber Alox Pioneer-Modell mit einer speziellen vorderen Skala. Die vordere Ebene wurde mit der Datumscode 2 Ziffern sowie entweder KL für die Armee oder KM für die Marine gestempelt. Die aktuelle Ausgabe der niederländischen Armee ist das neuere 111 mm Stil Taschenmesser, das Victorinox produziert.

La escala frontal fue sellada con el código de fecha de 2 dígitos, así como cualquier KL para el ejército o KM para la Armada. El problema actual del ejército holandés es la más reciente 111 mm estilo navaja que Victorinox produce.

This is a black Victorinox Classic with the seal for the US Army on the front scale. There is no Victorinox shield on this knife. These are pretty common and can be found NIB sometimes.

Here is another military seal on a Black Victorinox Swiss Army Classic. This one has the shield for the Berlin Brigade of the US Army in Europe. The seal says "On Point for the Nation - Stay USAREUR.

Here is one of my favorite Victorinox large knives. The "Outrider" is one of the few 111mm knives with a scissors. It also has a long small Phillips screwdriver that will out reach most others and it has a small end. The military logo or shield for the Swiss Armed Forces Joint Staff is on the front and it has "Armed Forces Joint Staff" in 4 different languages on the back side. This one is dressed in beautiful black nylon scratch resistant scales.

Victorinox Old Soldier - Fiber scaled old soldier

Here is my old Victorinox fiber scaled soldier probably from the 1950's but I do not really know for sure. The blade normally has a date tang stamp but this one looks like it may have been repaired sometime at the Ibach, Switzerland factory and has a plain no date stamp blade. The knife is in like new condition but with original fiber scales. They even have the "WK" stamp on the front scale. The "WK" stamp means it was issued by a genuine Swiss Army supply personnel to a soldier in the Swiss Army. There is a hole in the rear rivet for a bail to be but I do not have that. The old style awl and can opener are much more robust tools than their modern counterparts but lack the modern design that enables more work and jobs for them to be used on.
