Swiza D04 Blue Swiss Army Knife(SOLD)

Swiza D04 Blue Swiss Army Knife. This is the newest Swiss made Swiss Army knife. Swiza is the company name and they have a long history. Founded in 1904 as a clock manufacturer they eventually relocated to Delemont in 1965, new ownership in 2006 and since October 2015 the Swiss Army knife was reinvented. The knife has a lifetime warranty. The knife measures 95mm's long in the closed position. The blade is about 75mm's long. The steel is 440 57 HRC. The nail nicks are die-cut all the way through each blade or tool for ease of opening from either right or left hand. You will see "Swiza" on the blade and "Swiss Made" on the front tang and "415-307" on the rear tang. The blade is a liner locking version with the cross shield being the button actuator to release the lock. The scales are a soft-touch style making for a nice grip. The blade is nice and easy to open with a firm "snap" and the lock is solid. All the tools have a great opening and closing snap and smooth feel. The knife also has a Tweezers that is similar to the Wenger with beveled tips and heads that are smooth not protruding. I did not see a key ring on any of the currently available models. There are basically 4 different models, D01, D02, D03 and D04. Basic differences are 1 layer no openers, 2 layer with openers and either with corkscrew or Phillips Screwdriver. They come in 4 colors all soft grip scales, Red, Black, Blue and White. Overall I feel this is up to the high quality standards that Swiss manufacturers hold themselves to.

Wenger EVOGrip Esquire

This is the EVOGrip version of the Wenger Esquire. The black rubber pads have a nice grip texture that makes it easier to hold and use the tool when wet or with gloves. The knife is small in size but there are other larger Wenger knives with the EVO Grip scales.

Wenger Tactile - Neoprene Grip Scales

This Wenger Swiss Army Knife is a European only release as it was never intended for the North American market. The model is called Tactile. It has special coated scales with neoprene type grip in marbled blue and black. The main blade is clip pointed. There are also a can opener, cap lifter, awl, corkscrew, nail file and a scissors.

Wenger Soft Touch 17

This is a knife from Wenger's new "Soft Touch" line. This specific model is a Europe only release. The scales are of the EVO type but they are coated with a neoprene like rubbery coating that helps with grip. Wenger has installed a clip pointed main blade instead of the more common spear point. This knife has a problem with the front scale peeling so I am not sure how long this coating is supposed to last. The rear scale is fine. The only 2 Soft Touch released for North America is the ST14 which has the scissors and the Soft Touch Swiss Clippers.
