Victorinox 100 Year Anniversary Tinker - 1884-1984 series

Here is one of the special anniversary knives made during the 1884-1984 100 year anniversary. This is the 84mm Tinker with the special 1884-1984 scales and a serial number etched into the alox liner behind the screwdriver. There was also a Classic, a Tourist, and a Champion Plus with these same scales and all except the classic was serial numbered.

Comparison - Victorinox 91mm Spartan and Tinker models

Most readers of my blog are experienced or semi experienced collectors who are familiar with the differences of the varying Victorinox models. This post is mainly for those readers who have asked about comparisons between similar models of SAK. The Spartan is the modern design of the original "Officers Knife" from 1897 patents. It has changed slightly over the years to this modern form. The Tinker is a slight change from that model by replacing the corkscrew with a Phillips head screwdriver. All other tools remain the same. Some users of this model have noted that the can opener screwdriver tip is better suited for small Phillips head screws and also that the bottom mounted Phillips head screwdriver does not really allow for much torque to be applied before failure of the knife or tool itself.

La plupart des lecteurs de mon blog sont expérimentés ou semi a connu des collectionneurs qui sont familiers avec les différences des divers modèles Victorinox. Victorinox Matterhorn - Serrated Blade

Victorinox at one time produced several partially serrated main blade versions of various SAK's and named them after some famous mountains around the world(Matterhorn, McKinley and Rainier). This one is the Matterhorn. It has the same basic Swiss Army knife functions as the Deluxe Tinker but has the partially serrated main blade. The tip portion of the blade remains a plain edge. The serrations are varied in size and shape which is much different than earlier serrated blades that Victorinox produced and made for a few SAK's in the past. These models are getting harder to find and you should add one to your collection ASAP.

Victorinox 84mm Tinker - Outward Bound

This is a special model made with the "Outward Bound" logo. I saw this model listed in Victorinox literature but can not seem to locate it right now. Outward Bound is an organization to help troubled youth in various outdoors type programs. It was started back in the 1940's. The knife is a Small Tinker 84mm in size with cobalt blue scales and the Outward Bound logo inlay metal on the front scale. They seem to be rather hard to find.
